David Smethurst

Dave has over 30 years’ experience in social housing, spanning frontline and senior management, service development, customer engagement and tenant representation. 

He has worked with housing associations, the Chartered Institute of Housing, consultation agencies and Tpas. As both a housing service development manager and Independent Tenant Advisor, Dave brings valuable insight into landlord and tenant perspectives, enabling practical solutions that work for all stakeholders.

His expertise includes stock transfers, mergers, regeneration, service improvement, customer engagement and scrutiny, tenant management organisations, service charge consultations and dispute resolution. Dave regularly develops consultation best practice and co-authored Tpas’ National Customer Consultation Guide for Mergers. He is passionate about co-creation and meaningful customer engagement.
